Tony Todd, the iconic actor playing venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, just hinted that an announcement could be coming later this week. Fans were first greeted by the Candyman star’s gravelly take on Venom in Spider-Man 2 reveal trailer that was shown on September 2021 Playstation Showcase Livestream.
Since then Tony Todd has dropped a few hints on the upcoming superhero action title’s progress, at one point even saying that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be massive compared to its prequel Marvel’s Spider-Man.
After nearly 14 months, Marvel’s Spider-man 2 Venom’s voice actor might have hinted that in the coming weeks some new information regarding the game will be on the way.
Reddit user Wet-Haired_Caribou recently noticed a Twitter post by Tony Todd and shared it with r/ GamingLeaksandRumors .
In this post, Todd mentions some big creative coming tomorrow and tells his fans to stay tuned for more information. While todd in his tweet doesn’t specify if this news is related to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, they note that this tweet included the clips from the reveal trailer released last year and that Todd has been liking the replies asking if the announcement will be regarding the sequel.
So is the news related to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 coming this week?
So far, we don’t know much about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, so it will presumably be featuring both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as playable heroes and finally introducing the symbiote to the Insomniac Marvel Continuity after the Venom was teased in both the post-credits of Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man Miles Morales.
Kraven the Hunter is also slated to make an appearance, and rumors have also suggested that other classic villains like Lizard and Mysterio could turn as well.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is said to be much darker than the previous Spider-Man Games, and it has been suggested that Venom himself could be a playable character alongside Peter Parker and Miles Morales.
Tony Todd’s most recent cryptic social media post hints that don’t outright confirm news related to Spider-Man Game, but given that Insomniac Games is still committed to releasing Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in 2023, it would completely make sense to have a new reveal come sooner rather than later.
The Game Awards 2022 is taking place next week, and this would be an opportunity to provide eager fans with a new trailer.
Players might not have to wait long for some new information related to Marvels Spider-Man 2 information, if Tony Todd’s recent hints are indeed related to his upcoming turn as Venom in the highly anticipated superhero sequel.
