Tony Stark is a genius inventor and billionaire, who suits up in his armor of cutting-edge technology to become superhero Iron Man. The adopted son of weapons manufacturer and founder member of S.H.I.E.L.D. Howard Stark. Tony Stark adopted his family’s company at a very young age following his parent’s death.
While overseeing a manufacturing plant in a foreign country. Tony Stark was kidnapped by local terrorists. Instead of giving in to his kidnapper’s demand to build weapons for them, he created a powerful suit of armor for himself to escape from that cave.
After returning to America, Tony Stark upgraded and put his vast resources and intellect to use for the saving the world from various threats. As Iron Man, he quickly stopped weapons manufacturing after seeing how much destruction his weapons could cause if gotten in the wrong hands.

Tony kept his alter ego a secret for most of his career, juggling his responsibilities as head of Stark Industries while also becoming a major player in superhero community as Iron Man and also the founding member of Avengers. Over the years Tony has faced many villains like the Mandarin, Justin Hammer, Obadiah Stance, Justine Hammer, Ghost, Crimson Dynamo, Titanium Man, Madam Masque, Spymaster and many more.
For many years Tony Stark covered his superhero identity by saying that Iron Man was his bodyguard, but Tony eventually declared himself as the Iron Man.
