Thanos is an eternal. Born on Titan to mentor and Sui-San, when he was a child he murdered his mother and began his rampage of his destroying, killing and winning in order to impress Mistress Death. To appease her, Mad Titan indiscriminately murdered countless lives to power and sought higher powers, such as the Cosmic Cubes and Infinity Stones.
One of the most famous and devastating thing that he did, is that when he collected all the Infinity Stones and used the Infinity Gauntlet to wipe half of all the living creatures in the universe. Thanos has also come into conflict with Marvel Universe on several occasions.
In 1991’s The Infinity Gauntlet — from Jim Starlin, George Pérez and Ron Lim, in this comic book series Thanos collected all Infinity Stones (earlier they were called Soul Gems) including — Soul Stone, Time Stone, Space Stone, Reality Stone, Mind Stone, placing them in a Golden Gauntlet (called Infinity Gauntlet).
After having participated in conflicts with The Annihilation Wave, and the Cancerverse, the Mad Titan became trapped in that latter universe with heroes like Nova and Star-Lord when the Fault was closed. They managed to return to their original reality thanks to Nova utilizing a broken Cosmic Cube. Thanos once again gathered his army, the Black Order, to raze worlds and to kill his own children that he had regretfully spawned.
While in his invasion on Earth, he was defeated by The Inhumans son Thane. He was freed by Namor. He joined the Cabal to face the threat of the incursions, but he ended up being killed by God Emperor Doom in the Batlleworld. In time, when he returned after the Multiverse was restored, and he later dealt with his son Thane using the power of God Quarry.
