Gotham Knights developer Warner Bros. Montreal has revealed a new gameplay about the upcoming PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and PC game, though there is nothing incredibly juicy or super salient, and unfortunately there is no specific release date till now .
Further there is no word from the officials that when we will see the next Batman game. However, if Warner Bros Montreal is out and talking with press providing the information about the Gotham Knights game, so this tells us that the game will be releasing soon.
For now, we know that the developer has revealed that while the game is being developed with four – playable characters (Batgirl, Robin, Nighwing, Red Hood), it’s been more specifically for two player co-op (two people can play together).
Warner Bros Montreal’s executive producer, Fleur Marty said that the combat system is completely different from Batman Arkham Origins, which was the studio’s last game in this universe, and as referred to, this new system has been made keeping in mind the two-player co-op in mind.
“The two-player dynamic fits the fantasy and the Gotham City setting. The ‘duo’ or team-up is such a central feature of the universe that there’s a literal shorthand in the comics, animated films, film and TV series”, Patrick Redding the game director adds that, “Gotham is a city of alleyways and rooftops, so the footprint from gameplay must to compatible with it”.
It is being told that the can be played solo, and they also confirm that players will be able to switch between character at any time, although you have to go to Belfry (the game’s version of Batcave). In the other words the characters won’t be changeable while you are flying.
While there are RPG (Role playing games) elements in the game, player’s wont have to worry about levelling up every character from scratch , because story progression is shared between all characters.
Since the other members of Bat family are always present in some way in the background, while you’re out in the world fighting crime or unravelling mysteries, they don’t stay inactive.
This where all the details about the Gotham Knights end, and right now their is no more information being provided by the officials, and the game is currently scheduled to release this year.
