The news comes directly from Ubisoft, with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla 1.7.0 update planned for release on 21st February 2023 across all supported platforms. The changelog itself is relatively small, with only small bug fixes and improvements made.

However, the update does fix some issues with Ubisoft Helix’s Credits currency not appearing correctly, so the update may have been necessary if it was affecting players’ purchases. The previous major update in the game was the new DLC The Last Chapter, which brought a conclusive end to Eivor’s story, however, the review for this DLC was lukewarm at best.

The news of a new update for the game may come as a surprise to many players. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has recently reached the end of its post-launch roadmap, with more new content planned in the future for the title after multiple large DLC packs.

However, Ubisoft clearly feels the update is important enough to push out to players. The change log doesn’t state if this is the final update for the game, so there may be some more small bug fixes on the way in the future.

Despite the current gap between games, there’s a lot to look forward to for fans of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Anticipation continues to build over Assassin’s Creed Mirage with the game’s return to stealth gameplay, as well as revealing many of the franchise’s future games.
